At approximately 8:05 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, the Lakewood Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 2012 Hickory Court, Lakewood NJ. First arriving units were on scene in under 6 minutes, firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions in a 3 story multi-unit residential building.
The fire rose to a second alarm bringing a total of Twelve fire companies to the scene, with approximately 50 firefighters and 30 support personnel. The fire was brought under control in approximately 2 hours. Their coordinated efforts successfully confined significant fire damage to 2 units. An additional six units sustained smoke and water damage. Approximately 13 people were displaced due to the fire.
Thanks to the swift response and teamwork of all involved, the fire was contained with no injuries reported.
The Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
