The Lakewood Board of Fire Commissioners along with Fire Chief Jonathan Yahr, is pleased to announce the appointment of volunteer firefighters Alan Perez Vilchiz, and Michael J. D’Elia 3rd. These appointments were confirmed at the Lakewood Board of Fire Commissioners’ meeting held on Monday, April 7th, 2025, where they were sworn in with honor and commitment.
Michael J. D’Elia 3rd is a third generation Lakewood Firefighter. His father Michael D’Elia Jr. is a former Lakewood Fire Chief, and his grandfather, Michael D’Elia Sr. is a retired Lakewood Career Firefighter, and former Lakewood Fire Chief, Fire Commissioner, and Township Committeeman. “Our family is beyond proud to have children follow in our footsteps and help protect the residents of Lakewood” Chief D’Elia Jr. said. Both Vilchiz and D’Elia will attend Fire Academy in the near future.
The Lakewood Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners, along with Lakewood Fire Department Fire Chief Jonathan Yahr, continue to seek individuals who have a desire to serve the Lakewood Community.
