At a recent meeting held on March 10, 2025, the Lakewood Board of Fire Commissioners issued a formal proclamation recognizing and expressing gratitude to the City of Asbury Park, NJ Fire Department for their invaluable support.

The proclamation acknowledges the Asbury Park Fire Department’s commitment and dedication in providing coverage for the Lakewood Fire Department while its members attended the funeral services of a fellow firefighter. Their willingness to assist during this difficult time ensured that the residents and businesses of Lakewood remained protected, demonstrating the strong bonds of professionalism and solidarity that define the fire service.

“The fire service is built on brotherhood and unwavering support for one another,” said Yakov Steinberg, Chairman of the Lakewood Board of Fire Commissioners. “We are incredibly grateful to the Asbury Park Fire Department for stepping up without hesitation, allowing our firefighters to honor their colleague while ensuring the safety of our community.”
